Airport Inn Dorval
The Problem
Airport Inn Dorval, a hotel near Montreal's YUL airport, was hemorrhaging money. They were paying approximately $8,000 per month in commission fees to third-party parking aggregators and booking platforms. That's $96,000 per year — going straight to middlemen instead of their bottom line.
They needed a direct booking platform that would let customers book rooms and parking directly, eliminating the commission fees entirely and giving the hotel full control over their inventory, pricing, and customer relationships.
The Solution
We built a complete direct booking platform from scratch — airportinndorval.ca. The platform handles everything the hotel needs to run their business independently:
- Quick booking flow with Stripe payment integration for instant, secure transactions
- Loyalty accounts with points system, giving returning guests incentive to book directly
- Pre check-in feature so guests can streamline their arrival experience
- Admin panel with full control over room/parking inventory, dynamic pricing, and availability calendars
- Analytics dashboard providing real-time revenue data, booking trends, and guest insights
- Reservation management with detailed views of all bookings, guest data, and payment statuses
Timeline
The entire project was delivered in 40 days with a solo developer and small team setup.
Results
$2,128.17 in revenue generated within the first 5 days of soft launch — with zero ad spend. The platform paid for itself almost immediately, and the hotel now saves $8,000/month ($96k/year) in commission fees that previously went to aggregators.
The hotel now has complete ownership of their customer relationships, booking data, and pricing strategy. They can adjust rates in real-time, run promotions to loyalty members, and track every aspect of their business through the admin dashboard.
